**Update 8/21/23** The full closure of Henderson Blvd (Hwy 259 Bus) will remain in place until 7:00 AM Wednesday 8/23/23. The City is finishing up an emergency repair of a failed sewer line in the middle of Henderson Blvd near the intersection with Nolen St. The area of unsupported pavement discovered from this failure was a public safety concern and required immediate attention. The original Henderson Blvd plan will resume thereafter.
*Revised Original Post* The longer-term partial closure of Henderson Blvd during the Kilgore College bridge construction will result in only one-way traffic continuing down Henderson Blvd and the opposing side continuing to use the detour route. The contractor plans to open Hwy 259 in the evenings to allow normal traffic flows and then re-close one side in the early mornings. The one-way traffic will be changing often and lasting several weeks. TXDOT will keep a daily updated map on their DriveTexas website.
