[ARCHIVED] Rescind Boil Water Notice

Boil Water notice rescinded

We are happy to report that we are now able to rescind the boil water notice.  We want to give special thanks to the Water crews who have worked tirelessly the past 4 days repairing the system, flushing lines and taking water samples necessary to get us back in compliance.  Please note that this extraordinary effort may lead to slight discoloration of water.  Please note:  If you did not get a call, text or email about this matter, please sign up for smart 911 at
The official notice is below:
On December 30, 2021, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Kilgore, PWS 0920003, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
The City has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of January 3, 2022.
