Election Information

The City Council elections are held yearly with the Mayor and Council Member Place 2 in odd-numbered years and Council Members Place 1, 3, and 4 in even-numbered years. The City Clerk is the Early Voting Clerk and responsible for conducting all City-held general or special elections.

All City elections shall be governed, except as otherwise provided by the City Charter, by the laws of the State of Texas governing general and municipal elections.

Election Date

The City of Kilgore’s May election has been postponed to November 3, 2020. This election will be held in conjunction with the county, state, and federal elections.  

January 15, 2020 will be the first day to file an Application for Place on Ballot for Council Positions 1, 3, and 4, in the May 2, 2020 General Election; the last day to file an Application for Place on Ballot will be February 14, 2020.

Voting Information

Early Voting:
Early Voting will be held October 13-30, 2020. this election is being held in conjunction with the county, state, and federal elections  
More information on Early Voting polling places and times will be posted as determined.

Election Day Voting:

Election Day Voting will take place on November 3, 2020 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at your designated County polling place.
