Marie Alveraz was deceased with a large cut wound to her neck. Juan Vazquez was alive and suffering from a cut to his neck, a cut to his wrist, and several stab wounds to his torso. He was transported to Christus Trinity Mother Frances, Tyler, Texas via life flight air ambulance and underwent emergency surgery.
After the arrests of Laneshia Lashae Young, 22yoa, of Overton and Allen Lamont Sutton, 28yoa of Overton, for their connection with SHERYIA GRANT’s disappearance, a third person was arrested today in Rusk County. A Juvenile from Arp, Texas was taken into custody due to a Directive to Apprehend Order which was the result of a two count indictment for Tampering With or Fabricating Physical Evidence (Human Corpse) Felony 2 and Tampering With or Fabricating Physical Evidence Felony 3. The indictment was issued by a Rusk County Grand Jury that convened on March 1st, 2017.
On Wednesday, March 1st, 2017 a Rusk County Grand Jury convened and returned two (2) sealed indictments for Laneshia Lashae Young, 22yoa, of Overton and Allen Lamont Sutton, 28yoa, of Overton. The two count indictments for Tampering With or Fabricating Physical Evidence (Human Corpse) Felony 2 and Tampering With or Fabricating Physical Evidence Felony 3 were the result of an ongoing investigation into the August 20th, 2016 disappearance of 20 year old SHERYIA GRANT from Kilgore, Texas. Mrs. Grant, who was eight months pregnant at the time of her disappearance, has not been found. Evidence uncovered during the investigation indicates she was murdered shortly after she was reported missing/ endangered.
Leak detection in our water system will be conducted beginning March 1, 2017 at 11:30 pm and ending March 2, 2017 at 4:00 am.
During that time, we ask that citizens refrain from irrigating, so that the City can obtain accurate low flow data necessary to identify and isolate leaks. No additional water usage restraints are requested during that time and normal water operations will resume by 6:00 am on Thursday, March 2, 2017.
