Junk Vehicles

The International Property Maintenance Code which was adopted by the the Kilgore City Council defines a junk motor vehicle as a vehicle that is unlicensed or inoperative.  City ordinance also states that a junk motor vehicle can not be stored on any premise (International Property Maintenance Code, 2006 302.8)  A vehicle is deemed inoperative if the vehicle has been previously wrecked, is dismantled, or due to any other condition that renders the vehicle incapable of being driven or started.  Once a vehicle has been deemed a junk vehicle, the property owner will be contacted by the City of Kilgore Code Enforcement Office.  The property owner then has 30 days to bring the vehicle up to code or have it removed or a citation could be issued to the property owner.
