The Primary Clarifier is located at our Wastewater Treatment Plant at 2701 Angeline St.
The Work under this contract consists of the rehabilitation of a 55 foot diameter concrete primary clarifier. The rehabilitation consists of removal and disposal of existing clarifier grout and mechanical and electrical equipment, cleaning, preparing and repairing concrete surfaces, and installation of new clarifier equipment and associated equipment and appurtenances.
The primary clarifier mechanism failed in the Summer of 2015. This project was designed and bid under a compressed time schedule. The original structure was built in the 1950's. The clarifier was rehabilitated with a new mechanism and baffles during the plant expansion in the 1980's. The mechanism failed due to age and physical wear. This treatment unit is one of two primary clarifiers and helps to remove solids from our wastewater before undergoing additional treatment.
The primary clarifier was placed back in service June 21, 2016.
